Wilma Hester English, 86, of Bladenboro passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Hester and Ruby Jones Hester, husband, Julian English, and one son, Andy English. Wilma leaves behind one daughter, Julie English and Robert Jones of Foxfire Village, one sister, Catherine H. Burney of Bladenboro and one great grandson, Luke Sparks and a special friend, Debbie Edwards.
Wilma was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. Wilma enjoyed quilting and putting jigsaw puzzles together. She was happiest when she was sewing. She was extremely organized, including her checkbook, down to the very penny. Wilma, although outspoken at times, had a caretaker’s heart. She was always making sure everyone had the things they needed and transportation to the doctor’s office. A loving, caring soul that will forever be missed.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Sunday, October 27th at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will follow at 3 pm in the chapel with Rev David Foster officiating. Burial will follow the services in the McKinnon Cemetery in Clarkton.
In lieu of flower, memorials may be sent to McKinnon Cemetery in c/o First Citizens Bank of Bladenboro.
