Wilbur Callihan

Wilbur Gray Callihan, 77, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 27, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, George “Gray” Callihan and Lillie Bell Tedder Callihan, four sisters: Alice Russ and husband Hurley, Ella Wese Callihan, Lillie Mae Callihan, Lillian Blackmon and husband Bob, one daughter-in-law Felicia Callihan, and one brother-in-law, Edward Lockamy. Wilbur leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara Willoughby Callihan of the home, one son, Wilbur “Craig” Callihan of Bladenboro; one daughter, Debra Callihan Turner (Carey Wayne) of Myrtle Beach; one brother, Willard Ray Callihan (Sylvia) of Lumberton; four sisters: Vivian Callihan of Leland; Barbara C. Page (Cecil) of Bladenboro; Gladys Lockamy of Bladenboro; and Brenda Crusenberry (Wendell) of Fredricksburg, VA, one granddaughter Stephanie Walters (Craig) and children: Grayson, Anna Claire, Lawson, Karaline Belle, Weston and Tillie Kathryn, all of Bladenboro; one grandson, Wilbur “Blake” Callihan (Nikki) and children: Sawyer and Timothy of Lake City, SC and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Wilbur was a devoted husband of 59 years, a loving Daddy and proud Papa.  His family was his whole world, and he made sure they were always well taken care of. His love for them was only second to his love for his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  Spending time with his family and listening to praise and worship music were his two most favorite things to do.  His absence will be felt so deeply, but his family praises God, that we have the assurance, that in Christ, we will be together again.

The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 4:00 pm. Burial will follow the services in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Bladenboro. All attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
