Ray Goodin Jr.

Ray Eugene Goodin Jr., age 75, U.S. Army Veteran of White Lake, NC was peacefully called home to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, with family by his side, at Lower Cape Fear Angel House in Whiteville, NC. He was born in Mecklenburg County in Charlotte, NC on January 4, 1947, to the late Ray Eugene Goodin Sr. and Irene Donaldson Goodin. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Mary D. Goodin of the home, three daughters: Melissa Myers (Barry) of York, SC, Tammy Condren of Charlotte, NC, and Christy Bordeaux (Andy) of Matthews, NC, siblings: Rick Goodin (Lynn), Rob Goodin, Cookie Johnson, and Barbara Albertines (John),  grandchildren: Hailey Lee (Sam), Matthew Myers, Austin Bordeaux (Callie), Adam Bordeaux, Quinn Condren, Mia Marie Bordeaux, and his great grandson Robert Lee, due to arrive in November of this year, nieces and nephews: Stephanie Wells (Ben), Eric Goodin (Gina), Jessica Trujillo (Chris), Kim Woods (Jeff), Jennifer Kook (Brett), and Cody Goodin (Raquel).

Ray was a God fearing, hardworking man who loved his family. He took great pleasure in being outdoors, was an avid hunter, and took joy in the craft of carpentry. Ray had an outgoing personality, and never met a stranger. He had a contagious laugh and will be missed by his loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 23rd at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Reverend Cameron McGill officiating.

The family would ask that in lieu of flowers, that you honor Ray by helping one of his favorite charities, Tunnels to Towers Foundation, (t2t.org), who provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families, and smart homes for injured veterans and first responders.
