Mary Howard

Mary Elizabeth Howard, 75, of Tar Heel, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Cora Lee Carroll; infant, Megan Rogers and daughter, Felicia Callihan. Mary leaves behind her husband, Jerry Howard of the home; daughter, Tracy Butler (Tommy) of Dublin; son-in-law, Craig Callihan; two brothers: Albert Carroll of Lumberton, Henry Carroll (Norma) of Bladenboro; two sisters: Joyce Chavis (Knox) of Lumberton, Inez Allen of Tar Heel; two grandchildren: Austin Butler (Kirsten), Wilbur Blake Callihan (Nikki); three great-grandchildren: Mark Sawyer Allen, Wilbur Timothy Callihan and Payslee Butler.

Mary was the princess of her home, beautiful inside and out. She loved God, her family and especially her grandkids. She enjoyed talking to her friends and family on the phone and in person. Mary never met a stranger and could make anyone laugh.

A private graveside service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2020.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Community Home Care and Hospice who provided care and became part of the family. Also, a special thank you to Katrina, Doris and Mark for their loving care and kindness.
