Loraine Moser

Mrs. Loraine Velva Marshall Moser, 94, formerly of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 25, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Bladenboro, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born August 11, 1925, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Ellis Leonard and Lou Emma Eaton Marshall.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who will be dearly missed by all that knew her.  Mrs. Moser retired from Spencer’s Inc. after 46 years of service.  In retirement, she was the smiling face that greeted you at the front door of Wal-Mart for 19½ years.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Isaac Hester; two granddaughters, Kerry Hester High and her husband, Kim, and Kristy Hester; two great-grandchildren, Sean Nunnery and Kayla Nunnery; a sister-in-law, Georgie Johnson Hatcher; a brother-in-law, Wayne Moser; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moser was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Moser; a sister, Opal Easter Hiatt; and by a brother, Rev. Eldridge Marshall.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Hester and the Rev. Bruce Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Moody’s on Friday one hour prior to the service.
