February 4, 1947 — August 2, 2020

Myrtle Beach, SC

Linda Suggs Puglia passed away peacefully with her husband and children by her side on Sunday, August 2, 2020.

She was born February 4, 1947 in Elizabethtown, NC, to the late Vernon A. and Christine Gooden Suggs. Linda spent her childhood and raised a family with her husband Sammy in Elizabethtown until they relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC, where her children and grandchildren also reside.

Linda lived life to the fullest with her childhood sweetheart and husband of almost 54 years with whom she traveled extensively, and they especially loved being on the water. She loved spending time with her grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as “Nana”. Linda was a bright light to those who knew her, and her eyes sparkled when telling or hearing a good story. She will be greatly missed by her husband, family and dear friends.

Linda is survived by her adoring husband Sammy, her daughter Samantha Staats and husband Tom, her son Jake Puglia and wife Nicole, and her four grandchildren Treb Puglia, Thomas Staats, Alexandra Staats, and Annamarie Puglia. She is also survived by her sister, Tomye Suggs Glenn. In addition to her family, she was also loved by her sweet dog, Hope, and cat, Hemingway.

There will be a graveside service at McMillan Cemetery in Elizabethtown, NC at one o’clock on Thursday August 6th. The family requests that masks be worn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McMillan Cemetery Fund-First Bank, 232 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown, NC 28337. These contributions are for the care and upkeep of this cemetery which was important to her because this is where her parents are laid to rest.
