Kenneth Dale White

Kenneth Dale White, 69, of Elizabethtown passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Healthcare System in Fayetteville. Dale will be missed by his wife of 50 years, Freda Bryan White; his daughters: Missy and son-in-law, Andy Wells of Rose Hill, Jennifer and son-in-law, Kory Hair of Elizabethtown, Denise and son-in-law, Waylon Rising of Bladenboro, Amy and son-in-law, Benjamin Reeves of Whiteville, and bonus daughter, “Jewels” Paige Smith. Grand Dale will be missed by Jaxon Hair (11), Lilly Wells (9), Brian Reeves (8), Wake Wells (6), Charlie Reeves (3), surprise blessing, Jayce Hair (6 months), and baby girl Rising up in 5 weeks.

Dale, the youngest of eight leaves behind sister, Alice Lane, brothers: Willard White, Charles White and Jerome White. He also leaves behind a bunch of loving nieces and nephews! He was preceded in death and had a heavenly homecoming with his parents, Raymond and Lillian White; sister, Hilda Mosbey; his brothers: Elroy White and Ray White.

Dale was well loved in the community and a faithful servant of God, in church and as a Gideon. He was a member of Farm Bureau board of directors and known throughout the community for delicious boiled peanuts after retiring from farming of 45 years. Dale loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He looked forward to Sunday evening suppers with his family and friends. Every August, he hosted a family and friends peanut boil. It was an event many people looked forward to in the year. This is what began his after-retirement family boiled peanut venture.

A drive-up visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the Elizabethtown Baptist Church CAC Building. The funeral service will be Monday, February 8th at 3pm with Dr. Rudy Ramphal and Rev. Charles Brust officiating. The service will be held indoors with social distancing practices and an outdoor live radio broadcast. Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery in Dublin.
