Kay Cashwell

Kay Horton Cashwell, 71, of Dunn, NC passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 peacefully at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman Woody Horton and Rachel Hood Horton. Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Jerry W. Cashwell of the home, son, Jake Cashwell of Fuquay Varina, two daughters, Karen Cain (Will) of Fayetteville and Wendy Cashwell Pope (Aaron) of Dunn, one brother, Breece Horton of Elizabethtown, and three grandchildren, Trevor Hilderbrand, BillieKate Pope, and Cole Cashwell.

Kay was a sweet, loving, and generous lady. She adored her husband which she spent many adventures with after her retirement from Cumberland County School System. Her grandkids were the apple of her eye. She would attend any activity they were involved with. Kay loved the outdoor life, especially camping and water skiing. She will be remembered for her cooking, her compassion, and her love of life.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm with Rev. Vivian Rhone officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Cain Cemetery off Sweet Home Church Rd in White Oak. All attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
