Katie Bowen

Katie McKeithan Bowen, 89, of Portland, Indiana, formerly of Bladenboro, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019. She was born July 1, 1930 to the late Grover and Lucille McKeithan. Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Bowen, one son, Kenneth Bowen and several siblings. She leaves behind her daughter, Linda Mowrer and husband Kirk of Portland, IN; daughter-in-law, Judy Bowen; three grandchildren: Ronald Mowrer, Rodney Bowen, and Kendall Bowen and two great grandchildren, Griffin Mowrer and Karson Mowrer.

Katie was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Katie was a woman of great faith and attended Fellowship Baptist Church of Portland. Her tender and loving demeanor has eternally left an impression on the hearts of those she leaves behind.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm in the chapel with Rev. Bobby Smith and Rev. Charlie Tatum officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Lewis Cemetery in Bladenboro.
