Jerry Freeman

July 13, 1949 — January 25, 2022

Evergreen

Jerry “Buster” Lovette Freeman, 72, of Evergreen went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Freeman and Christine Lovett Freeman, one brother, Lloyd Earl “Pee Wee” Freeman, one sister Annette Daniels, and one sister-in-law, Cathy Freeman.

Buster leaves behind the love of his life, Patricia “Patsy” Pait Freeman, of the home, son Jamie Freeman of Grays Creek, daughter Tina Freeman of Bladenboro, two brothers, Danny Freeman and Bud Freeman, both of Bladenboro, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Buster was a faithful, compassionate man of God who adored his wife, Patsy, of 54 years and his family. He always had a soft spot when it came to children. He and Patsy often opened their home to those who had a special place in their hearts, like little Ella Leonard. She brought much joy to their lives. Buster was a passionate Sunday School teacher. He had a way of explaining God’s word so that everyone could gain a better understanding. He was passionate about creating things. If he could see it in his mind, he could build it. Buster loved working with his hands and did not like to sit idle. He spent most of his life as a Bridge builder, but he loved to go fishing on his time off. He was looking forward to his next trip. Buster was known for being honest to a fault. You always knew where he stood on any issue. He was a man of tall stature with a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor. He loved people and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In the last year, Buster fought many obstacles with his health but today he is sitting on the banks of that crystal river awaiting the day when he and Patsy will reunite again.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 6-8 pm at the Bladenboro Chapel of Bladen Gaskins. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 28th at 2:00 pm at Bethel Holiness Church in Bladenboro with Rev. Aaron Leonard officiating.
