Edison Dove

July 18, 1947 — June 30, 2021

Bladenboro

Edison Dove, 73, of Bladenboro went to his eternal home on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Columbus Regional Healthcare. He was preceded in death by his parents Medrith Dove and Narcie Edwards Dove, one brother Grady Dove, and two sisters, Macie Dove and Mildred Edge. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Connie W. Dove of the home, son Kevin Dove (Hope), daughter Michelle Dowless (Tracy), brother Sidney Dove (Barbara), sister Elease Perkins (Ronnie), all of Bladenboro, three grandchildren: Austin Dove, Connor Nance, and Luke Dowless, one great grandson Cole Dove and a special friend Craig Fields.

Edison Dove was a man that loved his family very much. He loved to spend time on his tractor riding his grandkids around with him on it. He also had a passion for his garden. He would keep telling his family that he was not going to have one for the next year but that always changed, and he would add more to it until it became a rather large garden. His favorite thing to plant in that garden was watermelons. He loved to see how big those vines would get, and he loved to watch those little melons take off and grow. Edison always made sure his friends and family had plenty of watermelons or anything else he grew. He enjoyed helping others any way he could. Edison also had a love for fishing. It always gave him time to spend with his son Kevin. He always said that Kevin liked to fuss with him because he could not help but get his line hung on something while they were out there fishing. Edison had a special bond with his only daughter, Michelle, who is the “brat” of the family. He loved to make her wait on him. He looked forward to her working from home because he knew that she would do whatever he asks of her when she came for a visit.

Edison was a man that loved the Lord and his church family at Covenant Worship Center. He loved to be able to talk and enjoy the fellowship with each member, family or visitor. He just loved people in general and never met a stranger no matter where he was at. He loved to go out to eat with his family and before he left a restaurant, he had always made a new friend. He always knew how to make people laugh and have a good time. Edison loved to find a way to pick with his family and friends. Let us just say he was the life of the party no matter where he was at. As time went on in his life, he spent a lot of time in the house so he and his sweetheart Connie would spend time watching tv and they became very fond of Westerns and Leave it to Beaver. Often, when not watching tv together, they could be found sitting on their porch. He enjoyed feeding and watching the hummingbirds. Edison left a lasting impression in this life and footprints that can never be filled. His family and friends look forward to the day of seeing him again on the other side.
