Bobbie Kemp

Bobbie Janet Dail Kemp, 81, of Elizabethtown passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Kemp, Jr.; parents: Harper and Minnie Dail; two brothers: John H. Dail, Norman Dail and six sisters: Viola D. James, Virginia D. Albertson, Ethel D. Williams, Margaret Mobley, Hettie D. Molitor and Ruth D. Peake. Bobbie leaves behind her daughter: Faye Phillips and husband Mark of Hope Mills; four sisters-in-law: Doris Jones of Jacksonville, Edith Bass of Lumberton, Cathie Hoover of Cameron, NC, Hattie Stewart of Waycross, GA; two grand goddaughters: Brittany Herring of Westminster, CO and Ericka Herring of Greenville, NC.

Bobbie loved her husband for 38 years before his untimely death, daughter and son-in-law immensely. She managed the Popes Dime store in Elizabethtown for 25 plus years. She loved gardening and helping her husband with his lawncare business. Bobbie was an avid reader, loved crafts, cooking and embroidering. She also helped raise a lot of her nieces and nephews. Bobbie had a great faith of God and found comfort by singing The Lord’s Prayer and Amazing Grace. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, November 19th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 20th at 1pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home with Rev. Neil Smith and Rev. Bobby Herring officiating. Burial will follow service in the Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Council.
