Zeke Clement Babson, 79, of Bladenboro, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Babson and Ethel Butler Babson; son, Vincent Babson and granddaughter, Kandice Lewis.
Zeke leaves behind his loving wife, Patricia Babson of the home; son, Patrick Babson of St. Pauls; daughter, Kim Babson Taylor of Tabor City; two brothers: Roger Babson, Bennie Ray Babson; two sisters: Rita Cartrette, Judy Rhodes; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Zeke was a retired Vietnam veteran of the United States Navy where he served as a Top Master Chief. He treasured the time spent with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed motorcycles, going to the movies, dancing, singing and swimming. Zeke was very smart and out of 12 years of school, he never missed a day. He also taught courses at Southeastern Community College in his spare time. Zeke loved the Lord and knew the Bible inside and out. He loved teaching Sunday School and having Bible study at his home every day. Zeke's love for music ranged from Elvis to all night gospel music singings. His loving spirit will be remembered forever.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, July 5th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, July 6th at First Pentecostal Church in Lumberton with Rev. Anthony Rich officiating service. Burial will follow in the Owen Cemetery in Bladenboro.
