William "Bill" Jackson

William Alan "Bill" Jackson, 70, of Clarkton died Wednesday evening, June 29, 2022 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Lifecare Center in Whiteville, NC. He was born September 28, 1951 in Bladen County, the son of the late Walton Ralph "W.R." Jackson and Elnora "Gene" Ferguson Jackson.

Bill attended high school in Elizabethtown and graduated from UNCW. He completed the General Electric management training program at a young age and worked in management in their facilities in NC, VT, and KY. Bill then worked in upper management at Black & Decker in NC and MD; and later in the textile industry in NC. He later pursued his dream of becoming a sod farmer by staring his own sod farm, Jackson Turf Farm, with his wife Denette Jackson in Bladen County, NC.  He had recently retired. Bill was an outdoorsman who enjoyed the beach, fishing, boating and hunting. He also loved singing in the church choir and was a member and past Elder at Clarkton Presbyterian Church.

Bill is survived by his wife, Amy Denette Jackson; daughter, April Jackson Huml; grandchild, Sophia Gray Huml; step-sons: Donald Montgomery Britt Junior and wife April Storms Britt, Westley Griffin Britt and wife Whitney Devon Britt; step-grandchildren: Isabella Nicole Britt, Donald Blake Britt, Khloe Denette Britt, Rachel Cora Britt, Gavin Bradford Britt; brothers: David James Jackson and wife Kathy Lee Jackson, Donald Ray Jackson and wife Cynthia Barnes Jackson.

Bill was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Alan Jackson and step-daughter, Amanda Marie Britt.

His graveside service will be conducted at 4:00pm Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Carvers Creek Methodist Church by Reverend Jimmie Tatum and Reverend Ronnie Wilson of Western Prong Baptist Church.

Friends and family can congregate afterwards in the Fellowship Hall at Carvers Creek Methodist Church to share memories and stories.
