Walter “Kent” Bordeaux, 84, U.S. Army Veteran of Dublin passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021. He is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Kinlaw Bordeaux, parents Rufus and Geneva Bordeaux, sisters, Frances Bordeaux and Judith Bordeaux Davis. Left to cherish his memory are stepdaughter, Sherry Dowless of Bladenboro, son Dean Bordeaux of Whiteville, one sister Carolyn Price, two granddaughters, Kayla Brooke and Kristin Bordeaux, two step grandchildren Nathan Dowless and Jeremy Dowless, one great granddaughter, MacKenzie Bordeaux, and five step-great grandchildren.
Kent was a lifelong member at Singletary Methodist Church in Dublin. He was known for his love of golf, fishing, and his family. Kent retired from Campbell Oil Company and then later worked at the local hardware store in Dublin. He also served with the Dublin Lions Club, several other community committees and coached little league baseball. Kent leaves lasting memories of love and laughter to all that know him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 10:00 am at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Services will conclude in the Bordeaux Cemetery on Owen Hill Road in Elizabethtown. Rev. Cameron McGill will be officiating.
