Steven “Steve” Keith Nicholson Sr., 65, of Bladenboro passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father, James Nicholson. Steve is survived by his mother, Margie Curling Nicholson of Chesapeake, VA; his loving wife, Kathy H. Nicholson of the home; two sons: Steven Nicholson Jr. (Katherine) of Hallsboro; Tyler Nicholson (Heather) of White Oak; one daughter, Mindy Ingram of Parkton; one sister, Cindy Payne (Larry) of Chesapeake, VA; a half-sister, Jody Starnes (Ken) of Charlotte; and eight grandchildren: Hunter, Landon, Chase, Madalin, Caden, Kix, Auden and Liam.
Steve was a loving family man. His grandkids knew him as “Grandy”. He was an active member of the Broad Ridge Baptist Church in Orrum where he served as deacon. Steve always had a good attitude toward everyone he met. He enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar, wrestling, and the Carolina Panthers when they were winning. His sense of humor and genuine heart of gold will greatly be missed.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, September 23rd at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, September 24th at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lake Waccamaw.
Due to the COVID 19 outbreak, attendees of the services are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
