Ruby Gray Pait Carter

Ruby Gray Pait Carter, 92, of Bladenboro passed away at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edwin Pait and Ada Lewis Pait; husband, Daniel “Killer” Carter; brothers: Dewey, Levy, Floyd and Azzie Pait, sisters: Alma Hester and Betty Thompson.

Ruby leaves behind her sons: Ronald Carter and wife Carolyn of  Butters, Mike Carter and wife Jill of Shallotte Point; grandchildren: Adam Carter (Brandie), Melissa Valenta (David); great-grandchildren: Blake, Taylor and Carter; step great-grandchildren: Mallorie, David and Cameron.

Ruby adored her boys, grandchildren, neighbor Cathy and fur baby, Trip. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, reading, doing puzzles, babysitting, going to the beach, mountains, and church. Ruby took pleasure in sitting on her front porch watching the cars go by and watching the birds as they flew. Her compassionate and giving soul will be missed by all who loved and cared for her. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday, November 8th at the Bladen-Gaskins Bladenboro Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, November 9th in the Lewis Cemetery in Bladenboro.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Melissa and David Valenta 8106 Center Road Bladenboro, NC 28320.
