Ruby Helms

Ruby Dean Connor Helms, 82, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Columbus Regional Healthcare. She joined those gone on before her, her loving husband, Charles Helms, grandson Jason L. Helms Jr., parents, Wilbur and Nettie Connor, sisters, Shelby Shaw, Letha Wilson, Louise Turner, Carrie Lee Bullard and Kathleen Chapman, and brothers, Lil Wilson, Pleto Connor, HW Connor, and LD Connor. Left to cherish her memory are son, Jason Helms (Betsy) of Abbottsburg, grandchildren, April Stegal (Patrick) of Greensboro, Staci Helms of Abbottsburg, and Jason Helms III, four great grandchildren, and a many nieces and nephews.

Ruby was a loving, strong, and independent Christian woman. She adored her husband, Charles and the apple of her eye, her grandchildren. Ruby was a hard worker and caretaker by nature.  She loved the Lord and was a life-long faithful member of Abbottsburg Pentecostal Holiness Church. Ruby was known for being strong willed yet gentle. Her bright smile and warm hugs will be eternally missed.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 11:00am at Cashwell Cemetery. Rev. James Hodge officiating.
