Ronnie Rush

Ronnie Bridgers Rush, age 96, of Clarkton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 3, 2022, while at Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Center in Wilmington. She was born in Bladen County on May 11, 1926, to the late Scarborough Bridgers and Strawdie Byrd Bridgers.

Ronnie is survived by three daughters, Emily Williams (Steve), Ann Burney, and Beth Hammond (Larry), all of Clarkton, grandsons, Christopher Barnes (Angie), Graham Burney, and Macon Hammond, one granddaughter Kelsey Hammond, step grandchildren Todd Burney (Carrie), Larry Hammond Jr., Josh Hammond (Valerie) and Jessica Fetsch (Derek), and five great grandchildren Caleb, Jared and Isabella Barnes, Jolie Burney, and Julian Hammond. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Graham Rush, sisters Juanita Baysdon and Martha Oakley, brothers Howard, Alton, and Richard Bridgers, and son-in-law Ronnel Burney.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm with the Reverend Barrett Ingram and Larry Hammond officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Clarkton Cemetery.
