Robert Livingston Butler, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born in Robeson County on April 22, 1956, to the late Charlie Butler and Mae Evers Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Eugene Butler, Henry “P.D” Butler, Eunice, Agnes, Earlene, Libby, Phyllis, and Devola.
Robert leaves behind the love of his life his wife Jill Butler of the home, son Adam Butler of Bladenboro, daughters Christina Hester (Eric) of Bladenboro, Robin Roy (Justin) of Bladenboro, Amanda Johnson (William) of Dublin, and Michelle Butler of Bladenboro, one sister Peggy Dowless (Ray) of Bladenboro, twelve grandsons Caleb, Dalton, Little Eric, Steven, Juston, Freddie, Jason, Joshua, William III, Dylan, Wyatt, and Nathan and one granddaughter Jessi.
Robert was a loving son, brother, husband, dad, and grandpa. He and his wife Jill married at a young age and were inseparable. He always held her heart and she held his hand until his time of departure from this life. His children and his grandchildren brought him much joy and he loved every minute he had to spend with them. Robert was known for his love of singing and his sense of humor. He always kept everyone laughing. He will be dearly missed by all.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 2-3 pm at the Faith Fellowship Holiness Church in Bladenboro. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 3:00 pm with Evangelist Rodney Nichols officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Singletary Cemetery in Butters.
