Rebecca Mccollum

Rebecca Ann West McCollum, of Bladenboro went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the age of 58. She was born in Bladen County on June 2, 1964 the daughter of Roy and Vivian McLean West.

Rebecca was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and Mimi. She was a shining light to not only her family but to her church and to the community. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and the Amish country, taking photos, tending flowers, and sewing.

Rebecca loved the Lord and spent her life as a witness for him. As a faithful lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church of Bladenboro, she served as a leader of the GA’s and as a Youth teacher. She also spent many hours walking the streets witnessing to others about the Lord. She fought long and hard in this life and she never allowed her disease to define who she was. Her determination and selfless acts of love will eternally be cherished by all.

Rebecca leaves behind her parents, her adoring husband Greg McCollum of the home, daughters Alison McCollum (Brandon) of Bladenboro and Morgan Link (Jeremiah) of Bladenboro, grandchildren Cray Boswell and Jacob Link, brother Steve West (Audra) of Bladenboro, sisters Tammy W. Baxley (Larry) of Bladenboro and Sandra W. Sykes (Roger) of Sunset Harbor, a host of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Brittney Jones.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, March 22nd at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 23rd at 3:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church in Bladenboro with Pastor Arthur Smith officiating the service. Burial will follow the services at Bladen Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown.
