Noretta White

Noretta Carlain White, 81, of Clarkton passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Whiteville. She was preceded in death her parents, Luther Nance and Ettie Butler Nance; husband, Hull White; siblings: Wilbur Nance, Clyde Nance, Grady Nance, Ozell Nance, Harvey Nance, Alberta Bunell, Ina Bell Davis, Josephine McCurley and grandson, Zane White.

Carlain leaves behind son, Gregory White and wife Stephanie of Sumter, SC; daughter, Marajo Kellihan and husband Michael of Bladenboro; two sisters: Lois Tysinger of Lumberton, Vivian Bently of Florida; grandchildren: Seth White, Lucas White and Khloe Kellihan.

Carlain was born on August 8, 1941 in Bladen County to the late Luther and Ettie Nance. She was the baby of eleven siblings, all of which were raised on a farm. At a younger age, Carlain loved to fish. She also enjoyed raising dogs and going to the beach, but her favorite things were Mountain Dew and Almond Joy candy bars. Her kindness, generosity, and friendship will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends at 1pm on Friday, December 16th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with funeral service at 2pm. Rev. Cameron McGill will officiate service. Burial will follow in the Butters Cemetery in Bladenboro.
