Lucille Hood

Lucille Watts Hood, 92, of Clarkton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 20, 2023 at Elizabethtown Nursing Center surrounded by family. She was the daughter of William and Lois Shaw Watts.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Garvis Hood of Clarkton. She is survived by her daughter Arrie Hood Formyduval and husband David of Clarkton, son  Jimmy Hood of Fayetteville, sister in law Betty Jo Walker of Chadbourn and a special nephew, Gary Watts of Bladenboro, who ran errands, took her  to doctor visits, and took her places to help with needs.  She is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was a seamstress at Sew It Seams in Dublin when she retired to care for her two youngest grandsons, Matthew Formyduval of Clarkton and Lucas “Luke” Formyduval of Charlotte.

She enjoyed working in her yard and visiting neighbors on her front porch. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarkton and attended faithfully until her health began to decline.

A visitation will be held Thursday March 23, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bladen Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, NC. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Bladen Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, NC with Rev. Mark Miller and Rev Mike Thompson officiating. Burial to be held at Western Prong Cemetery, Whiteville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Clarkton.
