Louise Schaefer passed quietly on, January 24, 2021, and arrived in heaven to a family reunion with her parents, brothers and sisters, all who preceded her in death. She was 87. She was born Louise Grace Schaefer, the youngest of 5 children to Charles and Laura Schaefer on July 22, 1933, in Kings Park, Long Island, New York. Her mother passed shortly after childbirth. Louise spent her younger years along the North shore of Long Island and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1956 where she remained for over 60 years. When her health deteriorated she moved to North Carolina to be close with family. She is survived by sons Kenneth Armenta of Capitan, New Mexico, Wayne Armenta and wife Vicky of Butters, North Carolina, one daughter, Tanya Armenta of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, also 3 granddaughters and 3 grandsons and several great-grandchildren.
No services will be held in North Carolina. A private family service will take place in Albuquerque where her ashes will be returned to the land she loved so much.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and caregivers, especially those with Community Home Care and Hospice of Whiteville who provided such loving and special care these past months.
