Leo Hester

Leo Hester, 85, of Lumberton, formerly of Bladenboro, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Coleman and Annie Hester, two brothers, Downey Hester and Phillip Hester, four half-brothers, Clarence Hester, Lewis Hester, Norwood Hester, and Wilton Davis, ten half-sisters, Naomi Guyton, Mable Benton, Pauline Davis, Mary Little, Myrtle McKeithan, Jewel Soles, Lillian Simmons, Leola Quattrocchi, Hattie Mae Lewis, and Annie Neal Russ.

Leo leaves behind his wife, Shirley Hester, three sons, Russell Hester (Laurie), Michael Hester, Ricky Hester, nine grandchildren, Amanda Gooch (Michael), Sara Hester, Ryan Hester (Katie), Shannon Hester, Jamie Hester (Alisha), Jay Hester, Guy Hester (Amanda), Jessica Hester, Jonathan Hester and 11 great grandchildren.

Leo retired from the State of North Carolina as a Bridge Engineer. He loved coaching baseball, golf, and construction. He was a member of the Bladen Masonic Lodge 646.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00am at Elizabethtown Cemetery.
