Kenneth Temple Hill, 85, United States Army Veteran of Elizabethtown passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, while at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born on April 11, 1939, in Robeson County to the late Oliver Monroe Hill and Docia Osborne Hill.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Myrtle Hill of the home, sons Kenneth "Ken" Hill Jr. (Lawanda) of Moore County and Randy Hill (Kelli) of Elizabethtown, one sister Marilyn Brasher of Moore County, and four grandchildren Luke Hill, Jeralyn Hill, Cameron Hill, and Kaylee Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, John Hill, Donald Hill, Larry Hill, and Shirley McBride.
Kenneth was a loving husband, father and grandfather who adored his family. He was a diehard UNC Tar Heel Sports Fan especially of point guard, Phil Ford, whom he recognized as the best college point guard of all time. He also had a love of music and westerns. Kenneth was a man with a grand sense of humor who enjoyed nothing better than sharing laughs and watching knuckle head movies with his family. In his building, working with his hands or riding his lawnmower were his favorite hideouts. He will always be remembered for the great joy he brought to his family and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
A graveside service will be held on Friday May 24, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Elizabethtown with the Reverend Warren Hill officiating.
