Joyce Guyton Sapp, 90, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. She leaves behind her son Leonard Sapp (Deborah) of Bladenboro, daughter Linda McLean (Horace) of Bladenboro, three grandchildren, Audra Fortune (Richard) of Hampstead, Johnathan Sapp (Charlotte) of St. Pauls, and Miranda Cross (Blake) of Knightdale, NC; two great grandchildren, William Benton, and Avery Sapp, one great-great grandchild, Myla Benton and several nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Goldsby Guyton and Kate Bryan Guyton, five brothers, Beauford, Cary, Hoyt, Grady and G.P., and two sisters, Francis Smith, and Lois Guyton.
Joyce was an independent, loving, Christian lady. She cherished her family but loved all people in general and was never at a loss for words. After a 20-year battle with Alzheimer’s, she now rest with her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of love will go on for generations to come until they meet again.
A graveside service will be held at 4:30 pm on Sunday, September 5, 2021 in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Charleston Guyton and Dr. Mack Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
