Johnnie Lee Tatum, 65, of Whiteville, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie and Elizabeth Tatum; two brothers: James and Billy Charles Tatum; two sisters: Marie Brisson and Brenda Kay Prichard. Johnnie leaves behind his wife of two years, Faye Tatum; daughter, Leighanna Tatum Gharam (Laith) of Clarkton; step-daughter, Marcia Glover (James) of Texas; three brothers: Tommy Tatum (Marjorie) of White Lake, Glenn Tatum of Abbottsburg, Allen Tatum (Rita) of Winnabow; sister, Debbie Parker of Vass; two grandchildren: Ameer Gharam, Ameera Gharam and step-grandchild, Harley Glover.
Johnnie was a devoted father, husband, brother, grandpa and friend. He was a caring man who loved everyone with all his heart. He never met a stranger and never had anything bad to say about anyone. Johnnie loved to fish, farm and to make people smile with his jokes and laughter. He also enjoyed spreading the gospel through southern gospel music with the Tatum Annual Gospel Singing. A singing will be held in his honor in June 2020.
A drive thru visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18th from 4-6pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. All attendees for this visitation are asked to please enter the funeral home parking lot via the Hwy 242 side and follow the signs around the building. Please stay in your vehicles. A private graveside service will be held on Sunday.
