John Kelly

August 27, 1956 — February 19, 2020

John Robert “Bobby” Kelly, 63, of Elizabethtown passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Junior Kelly and Louise Everett Kelly. Bobby leaves behind three sisters: Beth Nance (Ernie) of Dublin; Susie Baggett (Rob) of Rocky Mount and Carolyn Lancaster (Woody) of Elizabethtown; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Bobby loved his family. At the young age of 7, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. All his life, he dealt with this condition and the pain that came with it without any complaining. He never met a stranger. Bobby enjoyed talking with others and he loved to sing. When he was able, he sang in the church choir. His favorite team was NC State.

A Memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel in Elizabethtown. The family will receive friends after the service.

The family would like to express their gratitude to his friend, Stevie Hales and the staff of Elizabethtown Nursing Center for all of their help during Bobby's illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dublin First Baptist Church.
