Joan Gale McDonald

Joan Gale McDonald, 70, of Clarkton passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

She was born in Bladen County on August 15, 1953, to the late Henry McDonald and Sadie Jackson McDonald.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Susan Hood, Reba Kay McDonald, and Janet Lawrimore, granddaughter Deidre Britt and two nephews, Allen McDonald and Brandon McDonald. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Keith Britt (Wanda) of Clarkton, daughter Carol Britt of Whiteville, three brothers, Jeffery McDonald of Clarkton, Michael McDonald (Teresa) of Clarkton and Buster McDonald of Clarkton, three sisters, Brenda Lewis of Lumberton, Andrea McDonald of Elizabethtown, and Diane Evans of Clarkton, five grandchildren, Sadie Britt, Brooke Britt, Jasmine Britt, Chelsea Patrick, and Aubrey Jacobs and nine great grandchildren, Colton Merchant, Nova Merchant, and Noah Merchant, M.J. Rogers, Mila Rogers, Peyton Britt, Cooper Patrick, Genevieve Patrick and Penelope Patrick.

Joan was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and being outside. She will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm in the Clarkton City Cemetery with the Reverend Richard Priest officiating.
