Joan Helen Brisson Allen, 67, of Bladenboro passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, March 10, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Helen Brisson; brother, Jimmy Brisson; father-in-law, Boyce Allen and mother-in-law, Faye Allen.
Joan leaves behind her husband, Harold Boyce Allen; two sons: Joshua Allen and wife Kayla, Jordan Allen and wife Brittney; daughter, Jessica Allen Harper and husband Henry; sister, Judy Yates and husband Steve; grandchildren: Josie Hickman (Bryan), Alanna Nance (Hunter), Kali and Will Allen, Bristol, Harper and Boyce Allen; step-grandchildren: Haleigh, Zachary, Courtlyn Harper; great-grandchildren: Brynlee and Addyson Hickman and soon to be great-grandson, Reston Nance.
Joan was employed with the Division of Aging for almost 25 years before her retirement. She lived a life filled with love for God, her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved her family and friends beyond measure and her legacy will live on through them. She was adored by her whole family. She was involved and led church youth for over 45 years. Joan lived a selfless life of service, love, and compassion for others. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
The family will receive friends from 3-3:45pm on Sunday, March 12th at New Light Church in Bladenboro with a funeral service at 4pm. Pastor Dale Hester, Pastor Bradley Tatum and Pastor Charles Brust will officiate service. Burial will follow in the Old Hickory Grove Cemetery in Bladenboro.
