Jimmie Priest Jr.

December 24, 1964 — August 20, 2021

Lumberton

Jimmie Floyd Priest Jr. went home to be with Jesus, Friday, August 20, 2021. He was born December 24, 1964. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Floyd Priest Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy and son Landon, his mother Ruth K. Priest, brother, Timmie Lloyd Priest (Teresa) and one sister, Kelli P. Burney (Mike). He was known as “Uncle JJ” to his nieces and nephews and his grand nieces and nephews. They all loved him so much and he loved them.

Jimmie had always prayed that someone would start a Christian School. He was so happy when Community Baptist started a school in 1976. He attended and graduated from Community Christian Academy in 1983. He was intricate in choosing the school’s mascot as the Patriots and the school’s motto scripture of Matthew 5:16. Jimmie went on to graduate from Bladen Community College with an Associate Degree in Electronics.

He loved to sing and often sang with his family, other young people, and the youth choir. He enjoyed writing poems, essays, and plays. He wrote and directed a play about Heaven and The Fourth Wiseman.  He had very strong feelings toward the subject of abortion and wrote an essay conveying his thoughts. Jimmie enjoyed watching Son Life Broadcasting Network as well as documentaries on the History Channel. He was a compassionate, kind, and caring person who was always looking out for everyone. A jokester by nature who enjoyed playing jokes and keeping you laughing. He will be greatly missed.
