Hilda Hardee

Hilda Faye Collins Dowless Hardee, 79, of Elizabethtown passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021. She was born April 6, 1942 to the late Rollins “Sam” and Ruby Dowless Collins. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Ottis Hardee of the home, son Samuel Dowless (Karen) of Elizabethtown, daughters, Brenda Ward (Kent) of Elizabethtown, Gail Todd of Abbottsburg, and Peggy Sue McCall (Lloyd) of Lisbon, sister Norma Jane Hall (James) of Bladenboro, sisters-in-law Mary Collins Carter and Pearl Collins Huffman, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Hilda was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Faye Bass, brothers Horace Collins and James Collins and sister Esther Davis.

Hilda was a compassionate, kind soul who adored her family. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, puzzles, and crafts. Nothing pleased her more than to take a road trip to anywhere with her loved ones. Her generous, caring spirit will forever be held in the hearts of those who knew her best. Hilda loved flowers so flowers are welcome for the service.

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 pm on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a graveside service at 2 pm in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
