Gladys Cashwell Pait, 89, of Bladenboro passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fairley and Celia Cashwell; husband, Levy W. Pait, sister, Alma Sykes; son-in-law, Ronnie Heustess.
Gladys leaves behind her three daughters: Taressa Bordeaux and husband Joe of Elizabethtown, Diane McLaughlin and husband Gerry of Bladenboro, Sonya Heustess of Bladenboro; five grandchildren: Adam McLaughlin (Crystal), Erica Parks (Austin), Daniel McLaughlin (Jenna), Landon Bordeaux (Shelly), Laikyn Heustess; eleven great-grandchildren: Scott (Nicole), Cameron, Abby, Chandler, Kinston, Cody, Levi, Grant, John Michael, Lailah and Brayden.
Gladys was a humble, loving lady with a tender heart. She loved her family equally and loved them sincerely. She was the best cook known for her cornbread and collards. Gladys was always sharing and never wanted anything in return. Her gentle spirit will be greatly missed.
A public viewing will be held from 3-5pm on Tuesday, September 21st at the Bladen Gaskins-Bladenboro Chapel. A graveside service will be in the Galeed Baptist Church Cemetery at 11am on Wednesday, September 22nd with Dr. Mac Roberts and Rev. Brett Young officiating. The family has requested that all attendees please wear a mask.
