Gladine Sutton Bryan Mims, 87, of Elizabethtown went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Luther Sutton and Amy Kelly Sutton, her husbands, William Boyd Bryan and Frank Mims, an infant brother, two brothers, Rodney Sutton, Wilton Sutton, and two sisters, Melba S. Bordeaux, and Betty S. Smith. She is survived by son, Dennis Boyd Bryan (Charlene) of Elizabethtown, two daughters, Deborah Bryan Cook (Jimmy) of Clarkton, Tonya Bryan of Elizabethtown, one stepson Daryl Mims of Fayetteville, one stepdaughter Beverly Hall (Randy) of Fayetteville, four grandchildren, Amy Barnes (Greg), Jason Cook (Veronica), Kayla Baker, Kelly Bryan, one step granddaughter, Miranda Knode (Mitchel), three great grandchildren: Jacob, Gracie, and Emmalynn and two step great grandchildren, Michaela and Mason.
Gladine was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed bragging on her family. Inquisitive by nature, she would talk with whoever would listen. Her favorite pastimes were spent with her family eating out or with her pet cats which she adored. She left a legacy of love and admiration in the hearts of all that knew her.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 14th at 11:00 am in the Sutton Cemetery in Elizabethtown. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.All attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Bladen County Animal Shelter.
