George Edward Lockamy, 56, of Bladenboro, North Carolina, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, after a year long battle with a cancerous brain tumor (GBM).
George was born to Edward P Lockamy Jr. and Gladys Callahan Lockamy on April 30, 1965 in Robeson County. He was a kind and loving husband to his surviving wife, Nellie, since 1982. He was a beloved father to their son, Ryan (Christina) from the Outer Banks, and daughter, Nicole (Matt) from Virginia Beach.
Survived by his wife and children, he also leaves behind his mother, Gladys, sister, Teresa (Heath), and two nephews, Justin and Austin. Also surviving George are his four grandchildren: Emma (13), Noah (10), Lily (8) and Elliana (7), and his beloved rescue dog, Chance.
George graduated from Bladenboro High School in 1984 and retired in 2012 from the U.S. Navy after 26 years of dedicated service. During which he received his Associates degree from Excelsior College. His hobbies included spending time in God’s Word, making memories with his family, hunting, fishing, and taxidermy.

George was a dedicated servant to God, country and his family every day of his life. His attention to detail and desire to do his best was evident in everything he did great or small. George has now "reported to duty" in heaven, able and joyful for his next assignment.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a 3 pm funeral service in the chapel with Rev. Sam Van Slyke and Rev. Kevin Kinlaw officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Bladenboro.
