Frederick Britt

Charles Frederick Britt, age 84, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Frederick was born on August 16, 1936, in Bladenboro to the late Rev. Sidney and Sarah Nance Britt.

Frederick was a 1954 graduate of Bladenboro High School and attended Wake Forest College. He married his loving wife, Sybil Neill, on October 5, 1958. He worked at Federal Paper Board for ten years and then moved on to a career in farming. After his retirement from farming, he worked for the US Department of Agriculture. Frederick was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Bladenboro where he served as a deacon. He also served in the National Guard.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, June 11, 2021, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 6414 Center Road, Bladenboro with the Rev. D.L. Page and Clifton Kinlaw officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Hickory Grove Family Life Center.

He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his brother Lt. Col Ronald P. Britt. Survivors include his daughters, Janet Huggins and husband Bobby of Elizabethtown, Suzanne Britt of Ocean Isle Beach, and Emily Jackson and husband Dwayne of Bladenboro, three grandchildren, Britt Huggins and wife Mary Katherine of High Point, Paige Huggins and Sydney Jackson, and one great granddaughter, Palmer Katherine Huggins.
