Faye Allen

Faye Beard Allen, 87, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord February 7, 2022. She was preceded by her parents, Daniel Lymon Beard and Annie Hester Jackson, her husband Boyce Allen, son-in-law Murray Hester, two sisters, Doris Allen and Joyce Dowless and one brother, Edward Beard.  Left to cherish her memory are sons, Harold and wife Joan Allen, Nathan and wife Wendi Allen, of Bladenboro, daughter Deborah Allen Hester of Bladenboro, brother Dan and wife Minnie Ann Beard of St. Pauls, sister Jeanette and husband Harris Bryan of Florence, SC., seven grandchildren Jessica Allen, Joshua and wife Kayla Allen, Jordan and wife Brittney Allen, Hilary and husband David Johnson, Clint Allen, Clay Allen and Cade Allen, eight great grandchildren Josie and husband Bryan Hickman, Alanna and husband Hunter Nance, Kali Allen, Will Allen, Bristol Allen, Harper Allen, Boyce Allen, and Atlas Johnson, and two great-great grandchildren Brynlee and Addyson Hickman.

Faye was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family. She lived for her grandchildren. Her favorite saying was “Don’t mess with my babies!” Faye was an all-around athlete and very competitive. In her younger years, she was the star basketball player at Tar Heel High School. She was also active in bowling and softball.

Faye loved the Lord with all her heart and was an active member in Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Bladenboro as well as Godwin Heights Church in Lumberton. She played the piano by ear, directed VBS and led the GA’s. Among her many talents, her family would witness that she also knew her way around the kitchen. They enjoyed many meals gathered around the family table. Faye was also known for her beautiful alto voice and can now be heard in that heavenly choir. Her family rests in knowing they will certainly see her again.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Bladenboro with funeral service to follow at 3 pm. Rev. Charles Brust, Rev. Warren Hill and Rev. Bruce Miller will officiate the service. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.
