Eunice Shaw

Eunice Campbell Shaw, 95, of Elizabethtown passed away peacefully on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Elizabethtown Nursing Center.

She was born in Elizabethtown on September 14, 1926 to the late Mr. and Mrs. William Franklin Campbell.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sisters Selma Campbell Johnson and Alma Grace Campbell and her brother Renice Franklin Campbell.

She is survived by her husband of 77 years, David Shaw; her daughter, Donna Pleasant (Mike); her son, Lyn Shaw (Jamye); her grandsons: Michael Pleasant (Carlye), David Shaw III (Emily); her granddaughters: Amy Tyndall (Brian), Heather Mintz (Dolph), and her 6 great-grandchildren: Campbell Pleasant, Emory Pleasant, Ford Tyndall, Mollie Mintz, Rudy Mintz and David Shaw IV.  She is also survived by her sister, Eloise Campbell Helms and several nieces and nephews.

Eunice was a lifelong member of Elizabethtown Baptist Church.  She retired in 2001 after many years working alongside her husband, most recently at David Shaw Ford Mercury.  “Pauline”, “Grandmama” and “MeMa” enjoyed spending time in her kitchen and cooking for the ones she loved most.  Her most requested recipe was a tie between blueberry and peach pies.

The family would like to recognize Wanda Butler, Denise Murphy and the devoted staff of Elizabethtown Nursing Center.  These people remained by her side these past several years and have cared for her like family of their own.

A visitation will be held from 1:30-2:45pm on Wednesday, December 8 in the Elizabethtown Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00pm in the Sanctuary with Dr. Rudy Ramphal and Dr. David Elks officiating.  Burial to follow in the Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
