Eric Cain

Eric Reginald Cain, 67, of Bladenboro passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Wade Cain and Louise Evans Cain, granddaughter Samantha Emoray, Aunt Lizzie Mae Evans, and several other aunts and uncles. Eric is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Cain of the home, two daughters, Erica Cain Pate of Bladenboro, Dawn Sessoms (Jim) of Autryville, five grandchildren Leta, Thomas, Eric, Preston and Destiny and his precious fur babies, Reggie the canine and Buttercup the cat.

Eric was a loving, devoted Christian husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated from Bladenboro High School in 1971. He grew up working alongside his father as a carpenter. Together they built houses and operated the Bladenboro Home Supply Store. Eric married the love of his life, Joyce and raised two beautiful daughters. He and his wife owned and operated Erica Dawn Florist which later became Leta Belle Designs. Eric also worked with Murphy Brown grain company as a truck driver. He enjoyed driving and he thought of his coworkers as family. When not working, Eric loved spending time with his wife, children, and especially those grandbabies who were the apple of his eye. You could often catch him having a conversation with someone, sharing his quick wit, and giving advice on how to do a job. He never met a stranger. His keen sense of humor, strength and tenacity will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Sandy Grove Baptist Church in Bladenboro with Rev. Carey Horrell and Rev. Jimmy Strole officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Elizabethtown. All attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
