Emmy Dell Cain Clark, age 88, of Elizabethtown passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was born August 17, 1933 to the late Luther and Jettie Kinlaw Cain. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Clark; one son, Jimmy Clark, six brothers, Walton Cain, Bishop Cain, L.T. Cain, Herbert Cain, Willie Cain, and Bobby Cain, and three sisters, Violet Cain, Retha Mae Henry, and Edda Marie Estacion.
She is survived by two sons, Johnny Clark of Fredericksburg, VA, and Andy Clark (Debby) of Elizabethtown, two grandsons, Wesley Clark and Andrew Clark (Brittany), and a great granddaughter due any day; one brother, Ronnie Cain of Lumberton, two sisters, Vann Floyd of Lumberton, and Tonnie Kinlaw of Lumberton, plus several nieces and nephews.
Emmy Dell graduated from Bladen Technical College as a cosmetologist in 1979. She loved working with the local ladies all the while chatting and catching up with the local news. She retired in 2005 to spend time with her family. She loved the Lord and spent many hours at Elizabethtown Baptist Church doing whatever was needed, especially helping in the kitchen, serving, and taking care of others.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Elizabethtown Baptist Church With Pastor Rudy Ramphal officiating. Burial will be at Bladen Memorial Gardens after the church service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elizabethtown Baptist Church, 1800 W. Broad St., Elizabethtown, NC 28337 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
At other times, the family will greet friends at the home of Mrs. Clark, 208 Cromartie Rd, Elizabethtown.
