Elaine Sessoms Lashley, 70, of Elizabethtown went to her eternal home on Saturday, March 11, 2023. She was born in Bladen County on June 30, 1952 to the late Lonnie Ashwood “L.A.” Sessoms and Bonnie Mae Daniels Sessoms. She is preceded by her parents, and two sisters Connie Carroll and Doris Mote.
Left to cherish her memory are son, Christopher Thomas King of De Berry, Texas, brother Douglas Sessoms of Fayetteville, three sisters Gail Carroll of Dublin, Peggy L. Hester of Bladenboro, and Janice Strickland of Bluefield, three grandchildren Josh Brown, Vann King, and Dawson King, and one great granddaughter Kaislee King.
Elaine loved her family, especially her son and grandchildren. She adored her community where she lived for eight years and made lots of friends. Elaine was known for her sweet smile and gentle ways. A seamstress by trade, she had no desire for material things. She would literally give the shirt off her back to help others in need. You couldn't find a kinder person in this world. A loving sister, mother, grandmother, and friend that will never be forgotten.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Whites Creek Baptist Church in Clarkton followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am with the Reverend Kincy Barrow officiating. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.
