Donna Cagle

Donna Maria Barrett Cagle, 49, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. She leaves behind her husband Wayne Cagle of the home, her father Bruce Barrett of Hedgesville, West Virginia, one brother Ricky Barrett (Amanda) of Bladenbor0, sister Pam White (Michael) of Lisbon, five step-sisters Carla Gardner, Jennifer Barrett, Samantha Barrett, Karen Donaldson, and Roberta Wisenburg, several nieces and nephews and her fur baby, "Tiny". Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Sykes, and step-siblings, David and Beth.

Donna was a very giving, selfless lady with a compassionate heart for others. She graduated from Bladenboro High School and married her soul mate, Wayne. Donna then volunteered for 21 years with Bladenboro EMS, worked at West Bladen Assisted living as a CNA for 14 years and then went on to serve full time with Bladen County EMS for the past 15 years. She not only looked out for others but also her own family. She loved and cared for her mother until her untimely death in August 2021 and she often tried to make her brother Ricky walk a straight line. Donna and Wayne did not have children of their own, but they adored their nieces and nephews as if they belonged to them and cherished their fur baby, Tiny. When not working or volunteering, Donna enjoyed taking trips to West Virginia to visit her dad or just spending quality time with Wayne. Time spent together meant more than anything. A young woman with a golden heart gone too soon. She will eternally be missed by the community she adored and served so well.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 2 pm in the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow the service in the Ward Family Cemetery, 586 William Burney Rd, Tar Heel, NC.
