Dianna Fay Hall

Dianna Fay Hall, 63, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2023, while at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House in Whiteville, NC, with her brother and sister by her side.

Dianna was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Hall, Jr., and Shirley Brisson Hall. She leaves behind one brother, Dale Hall (Terry) of Council, and one sister, Pamela Bostic (Kyle) of Elizabethtown, four nephews: Wesley Hall (Davida), Evan Hall (Laura), Jackson Bostic, and Easton Bostic, and two great nieces: Weslyn Hall and Madelyn Hall, and two great nephews: Owen Hall and Holt Hall, and a very special lifetime friend Carol Baverstock (Bill) of Raleigh, and aunts and uncles that she loved dearly.

Dianna graduated from East Bladen High School and continued her education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. After working as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years, she received her Associate Degree in Applied Science in Nursing from Wake Technical Community College in August 1994.

Despite suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for thirty years, Dianna continued her nursing career until the severity of the disease prevented her from working. She had a passion for caring for people and an unwavering commitment to her patients. Some people would have withered in the face of chronic pain and reduced mobility, but Dianna persevered, never complained about life’s challenges, and continued to care for others. Dianna carried herself with dignity and strength, which helped her deal with her daily struggles. She inspired everyone who knew her and maintained her witty sense of humor until her final hours.

Dianna loved gardening and flowers, especially daylilies, and enjoyed playing video games with Jackson. She especially loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered for the enormous heart she shared with her family and friends. She truly loved each of them – and if you knew her, you knew it.  She had a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered for the many lives she touched.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 – 2:45 pm on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, with the funeral service following at 3:00 pm with the Reverend Glen Kinlaw officiating. Burial will follow the services in Bladen Memorial Garden Cemetery in Elizabethtown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House or a charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all the acts of love and concern given to the family during this most difficult time.
