Danny Carroll Driggers

Danny Carroll Driggers, 70, of Elizabethtown passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, while at UNC Chapel Hill. He was born in Cumberland County on January 27, 1954, the son of James Driggers and Frances Evans Driggers. 

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, and his in-laws, George, and Betty Shaw. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 54 years, Jennie Shaw Driggers of the home, daughters Heather Edwards (Phillip) of Elizabethtown, and Holly Brisson (Tony) of Bladenboro, two grandchildren Aiden and Asher Brisson and several grand dogs.

He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. Danny was a true outdoorsman, he spent much time outside fishing, riding his tractor or four-wheeler and doing yard work. Danny enjoyed playing pool with his family and friends. He was a diehard UNC Tar Heel Fan, which resulted in him wanting no other hospital to care for him. Our family will forever be grateful for “His UNC Family” on 3 Anderson. He will be remembered for the selfless love and generosity that he showed to everyone.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronnie Brisson officiating. A burial will follow the services in the Wesleys Chapel Cemetery in Elizabethtown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
