Cynthia Merritt

Cynthia Ann Merritt, 57, of Elizabethtown went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton

Cynthia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished time with her family especially her grandchild. She was a friend to all and will certainly be missed.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Lacy and Florence Jernigan. She leaves behind her adoring husband, Tony Merritt, daughter Amber Merritt, one granddaughter Lacy Merritt, in laws, Floyd and Pat Merritt, all of Elizabethtown, two brothers Richard Bibbs and Timothy Jernigan (Lisa), both of Garland, one sister Jodie Mote, also of Garland, brother-in-law Dwayne Merritt, sister at heart Christie Merritt, nieces Mercedes and Molly Merritt, Kelsey, Brittney, and Megan Jernigan, Samantha, Lynsey and Maddie King, and one nephew Daelyn Jones.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 2nd in the Merritt Cemetery, 81 Sweet Home Church Rd, Elizabethtown. Rev. Jimmy Tatum will be officiating the service.
