Casson “Cass” Wayne Goldsmith, 23, of Cary passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Betty Flores Whitsett. Cass leaves behind two mothers: Sandra “Sandy” and Sherry Stevens-Whitsett; fiancée, Jennifer Riggs; nanny, Lucy Roach Whitsett; sister, Caila Johnson (David) of Fayetteville; brother, Corbin Goldsmith of Kinston; aunt, Tasha Stevens-Whitsett; uncle, Brian Franklin; cousins: Tony, Carmen, Angel, Alexis, Micah; two canine babies: Zoey, Princess and cat, Shadow.
Cass loved his family and his fiancée, Jennifer and was very protective of his moms. He was a hard worker who loved his job and his co-workers. Always bringing the laughter to any room. He adored the time spent with all of his lake family at Camp Clearwater. Cass was very patriotic. He loved the military and the American flag. Some of his hobbies included: playing video games, watching football and Nascar. Ryan Blaney, #12, was his favorite driver. The lasting impression he made on the hearts that knew him will be eternally remembered.
A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Monday, March 7th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Rev. Mary Ellen Robeson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758516 Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
