Carol Starnes

Carol Ann Starnes, 71, of Clarkton passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Bladen County Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burdette Franklin Rollins Sr. and Carolyn Faye Wooten, her husband J.P. Starnes and one brother, Frankie Rollins. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Laura S. Britt of Cherry Grove, two grandchildren Kristen B. Willis (Travis) of Charlotte and JP Britt of Surfside Beach and several cousins.

Carol Ann was a compassionate lady who cherished her family and adored her husband, JP, until his untimely death in 1991. She loved spending time with her family reminiscing of old times. Carol Ann worked as a social worker for Columbus County DSS until her retirement. She enjoyed helping others, working in her yard, and sitting on the beach in the sun when she was able. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarkton. Her pleasant disposition and compassionate heart will be missed.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 4, 2022, in the Brown Marsh Cemetery in Clarkton with the Reverend Mark Miller officiating.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Sue Coleman, 9453 US 701 Business, Clarkton, NC.
