Bruce Clayton Atkins Jr., 43, of Lisbon passed away on January 8, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Judy Faye Davis; maternal grandparents, Buddy and Ester Davis; paternal grandparents, Elbert Clayton and Sarah Elizabeth Atkins; step maternal grandparents, Matthew and Inez Russ; uncles, Ronnie Davis, Tony Russ and his aunt Teresa Thomas.
Bruce Jr. is survived by his parents: Bruce Sr. and Shelia Atkins of the home; brother: Brooks Atkins and Jackie of Lisbon; sister: Wendy Atkins Martin and husband Jeromy of Lisbon; nieces: Mileigh Martin; Kaylie Atkins and Molly Patterson; nephew: Isaac Atkins; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bruce was a loving son, brother and "unkie" to his family. He cherished his family with all his heart. In his spare time, he would often be found walking through the woods and down to the creek collecting old limbs and sharks teeth. Some of his hobbies included: watching football, collecting seashells at the beach, washing and detailing cars with "Fish" for 20 plus years, mowing yards with Derrick Willis, reading his Bible and praying. Bruce's kindhearted spirit will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, January 18th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Friday, January 19th also at the funeral home with Reverend Lacy Norris and Reverend Buddy Meares officiating. Burial will follow in the Atkins Family Cemetery, 657 White Plains Church Road in Clarkton.
