Brenda Sykes

Brenda Gail Sykes, 68, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her home. She leaves behind her son Ricky Paul Barrett (Amanda) of Bladenboro, daughters Donna B. Cagle (Wayne) of Bladenboro, Pam White (Michael) of Lisbon, sister Mickey Durden of Bladenboro, five grandchildren, Zachary Barrett, Hannah Barrett, Chloe Barrett, Kylie Barrett and Ashley Aikens, and two great grandchildren Braylen Register and Easton Alto. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Sykes and Lucille Russ Sykes, and brothers, David and Gerald Sykes.

Brenda cherished her family, but her grandchildren were her heart. She enjoyed staying at home mostly but every now and again she enjoyed a trip to West Virginia with her daughter, Donna. Brenda also loved to spend time with her fur babies.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow the services in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladenboro.
